How to Use This Sheet

The punch list is what the owner or inspector finds still wrong or unfinished at the final walk. Clearing it, with proof, is part of closeout and usually comes before final payment.

Fill It In

  • Walk with the owner’s inspector when you can, so both sides agree on each item as it is written.
  • Give every item a location the next person can find: a station, an address, a pole tag or an enclosure label.
  • Describe what is wrong, not how to fix it. The fix belongs in the correction column once it is done.
  • Take a photo of each item before and after the correction. The owner may ask for proof that each item was closed.
  • Mark an item closed only after the inspector verifies it.

After the Walk

Keep the signed list with the closeout records, and update the as-builts for any correction that changed what is in the field. The closeout package checklist lists the rest of the records.
