Hardware and Guying

Lashing Wire Clamp

Layer:: Hardware and Guying
Views:: Pole Detail
Also Called:: Lashing Clamp

What It Is

A small clamp on the strand that holds the end of the lashing wire. The lasher’s run is ended and restarted at each pole, and the wire ends are secured with these clamps.

Why It Matters

If the lashing comes loose, the cable falls away from the strand and sags. Terminating the lashing at each pole keeps a break in one span from unravelling the next.

Materials and Specs

Lashing wire clamps matched to the strand, per owner standard

Inspect For

A clamp at every pole, placed as the owner standard shows
Lashing wire wrapped and trimmed with no sharp ends against the cable jacket

Common Mistakes

Missing clamps, so the lashing unravels
Sharp wire ends left touching the cable jacket

SOP Steps

AE-09 Cable Placement and Lashing
