What It Is

Buried cable and conduit belonging to other communication companies, often called foreign plant. APWA orange on the ground; on FAHMY drawings a dash-dot line with the letter C.

Why It Matters

Orange marks may be yours or someone else’s. Damaging another company’s fiber can cut service to many customers and lead to large repair claims. Expose it at crossings like any other utility, with the methods your state one-call law allows (State one-call law; UG-04).
